How to ban specific keywords and tags on Bluesky
Go to Settings
- Tap your profile icon and select Settings.
Navigate to Moderation
- In the settings menu, scroll down and tap Moderation.
Open “Muted Words & Tags”
- Inside the Moderation section, tap on Muted words & tags.

Click “Add Muted Words and Tags”
- You’ll see an option to add new words or tags to mute. Tap on it.
Enter the Word or Tag
- Type in the keyword or hashtag you want to block.
- ⚠️ Avoid very common words like “the” or “game” — this could mute too much content.

Choose the Duration
- Decide how long you want the mute to last:
- Forever
- 24 hours
- 7 days
- 30 days
Choose Where to Mute
- Select if you want to mute it in:
- Text & tags (for full filtering)
- Tags only (for hashtag-based muting)
Optional: Exclude People You Follow
- You can check the box to exclude users you follow, so their posts won’t be hidden even if they include the muted word.
